Quadam-i-Rasool

Located in the old quarters of city of Cuttack, Quadam-i-Rasool stands as a testimony to the communal harmony of ancient generation. It was built by a Hindu ruler in 18th century for the benefit of Muslims and is worshipped by both Hindus and Muslims. Its spread over an area of 57 acres and is a fusion of hindu-muslim architecture. The shrine has three mosques with towers at each corner. It also has a cemetry that houses the graves of many eminent persons. There is also a music gallery called Nawabat Khana known for its rare work of art. There is a stone in the central mosque that is believed to be having the footprints of Prophet Mohammed. This shrine is the best example of cultural unity and religious solidarity that the country has.
